ABSTRACT

Anatomy Human donor dissection has been the undisputed cornerstone of medical and health professions education for centuries. Rapid advances in digital learning tools, however, present both an opportunity and a challenge to this traditional model. While this evolution aligns with broader changes in curriculum design, such as competency-based medical education with AI integration, educators must remain steadfast in their defense of the dissection experience. Recent research suggests that the future lies not in replacement, but in a hybrid, multimodal approach that leverages the strengths of both human dissection and digital learning tools. By integrating advanced technologies into anatomy education but with robust oversight, such changes have the potential to transform the learning experience, enhancing accessibility, engagement, and pedagogical expansion.
