INTRODUCTION
Prenatal diagnosis has emerged as one of the most transformative advances in modern medicine, reshaping obstetric care and fetal medicine. It allows clinicians to detect congenital anomalies, assess fetal growth, and plan interventions before birth. Yet, beneath the technological sophistication of ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and fetoscopy lies a discipline that remains indispensable: anatomy. The interpretive power of prenatal diagnosis is inseparable from anatomical knowledge, which provides the framework for understanding normal development, recognizing deviations, and guiding clinical decision-making. This editorial argues that anatomy is not merely supportive but central to the progress and precision of prenatal diagnosis.
