ABSTRACT

Viruses are infectious pathogens and intra cellular parasites. Corona virus (SARS-CoV2) belong to genre coronavirus with high transformation rate in Orthocoronavirinae. The 2019 novel corona virus started from the Wuhan China, has become a global pandemic with serious consequences. The objective of this review article was to systematically introduce the novel corona virus outbreak including history of epidemic, sources of transmission, novel laboratory testing’s, symptoms, different approaches of treatment. The current paper summarized the role of personnel protective equipment’s, handwashing, and quarantine role in preventing the transmission of viral disease. A comprehensive literature review on currently available and advance emerging testing techniques for diagnostics of various viral infections like SARS-CoVs, Corona virus, influenza virus, has been presented. These detection techniques includes, Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction, reverse transcription insulated isothermal polymerase chain reaction(RT-iiPCR), quantitative real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR), real time RT-PCR (rtRT-PCR), and one-step rtRT-PCR are used. Molecular based testing techniques includes, reverse transcription loop mediated isothermal amplification (RT-LAMP), one-pot reverse transcription loop mediated isothermal amplification (one-pot RT-LAMP0) and multiplex nucleic acid amplification tests are emerging. It is expected that the given data will help the researchers to develop suitable diagnostic policies in a timely and effective manner.
