ABSTRACT

The microbiological analysis of the air is carried out to study the conditions of the environment and the quality of the indoor air. The present observational study involves the recovery of bacteria and fungi from the air environment, through an environmental monitoring plan. The passive method or Koch’s sedimentation plate method was used. The highest total microbial counts were found in the work area and the cleaning area with 764 CFU / m3 and 201 CFU / m3 respectively. According to international standards regarding microbiological air quality, two of the seven evaluated areas of the laboratory did not meet acceptable limits. Bacteria such as Bacillus spp. and CoNS coagulase negative staphylococci, in addition, six fungal genus. Finally, the present study allowed unleashing a series of immediate corrective measures inside the laboratory, aimed at reducing the concentration of microaeroflora.
